Wow! I can not believe how much we have grown. It seems like just the other day I got married. (Shane and I have been married since May 1997.) So many things have changed since I last wrote for this website.

To start off we have expanded, we now have a small group of women that work as The Bride's Assistants. They are awesome! All of them are so eager to help, and so much fun to be around!

I find it completely crazy how our lives takes us in directions we never imagined. My goals of helping people haven't changed, but I found myself helping women get started in the wedding consulting business. Which is wonderful to me, there are tons of folks getting married. And I really don't see them stopping anytime soon!

So I had a great idea. Actually a composition of ideas. First was, I get tons of women calling, to learn how to become a bridal consultant or wedding planner. Secondly, I have met with other vendors, that act as agencies, and they pair up vendors to clients. And third, there are so many wonderful companies like Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, and Tupperware, why can't The Bride's Assistant be like these companies. (Providing a flexable schedule, and adding a little extra income.) So my thought was I can help give women an opportunity to live their passion.

All women that come to work with The Bride's Assistant, start as an apprentice. Once they have completed their training, then become independant consultants for The Bride's Assistant. (If you are interested, please send me your resume and a letter of interest.)

My personal information:

My husband, Shane Gravitt, finally accepted my proposal, after four years of dating and a dishwasher later. (Ask me when we meet). On our first date, I knew he was the one! I still cannot believe I had to propose — I even got him a ring! We wed in May 1997.

A few tidbits about me:

  • I love to listen to personal stories, and I love to talk with people.

  • I describe myself as outgoing, compassionate, humorous, creative, open, understanding, and definitely chatty.
  • My personal experiences with weddings have taught me vast amounts.

  • I have a BA in social work from UK. Translates to, I love to help folks, but I can't do social work. Thank God for those of you who can!

  • We have two wonderful kids. Shelby and Jake, and if you need a flowergirl, she is a professional. (No charge, and we will buy the dress!) Don't ask for a ringbearer, he is a wild and crazy boy!

  • I think of life as an ongoing learning process. I have worked very hard to be where I am today in the bridal industry. And all my success is due to God, I wouldn't be anywhere or anything without Him.

I hope that this information is helpful to you. Also, if you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me directly!
